Medieval Banquet & Castle Accommodation
All the ingredients for a fabulous group event away staying in a castle dating back to the 14th century which hosts a sumptueous medieval banquet and to round the weekend off how about a thrilling descent in 7 man rafts on grade 3-4 rapids, a rough ride onboard of chunky 4 wheel quad bikes or take a shot at clay pigeon shooting.
The 700 year castle has 3 and 4 star bedrooms with a bar, restaurant set in acres of woodland 20 miles from Chester. Ruthin Castle is a very unique place to stay.
Ruthin Castle hosts regular medieval banquets throughout each month.
Guests are recommended to start their evening of merriment with an accompanied tour of sections of the 13th century walls, dungeon, legendary whipping pit and drowning pool*. Revellers then assemble in the Presence Chamber for the partaking of bread and salt, age-old symbols of hospitality. Fully costumed Ladies of the Court and the Court Steward escort guests into the lofty Banqueting Hall where they entertain, sing (in both Welsh and English), jest and lead the evening’s feasting with daggers and fingers accompanied by a tasting of mead, Ale and Wine.
